Our “BREATHE NATURE” explanation:

The Platycerium alcicorne, or “Staghorn Fern” is an impressive and unique plant that instantly adds an exotic touch to your interior. Its unique, branch-like leaves are reminiscent of the antlers of a deer, making it a standout. What makes this fern even more special is that the core of the plant develops brown bracts. These bracts hug the roots of the plant and protect the growing new leaves, which act as a kind of “nest” for the younger parts of the fern. In addition, there is a grayish-white, felt-like layer on the leaves of the “Staghorn Fern.” This prevents evaporation and absorbs moisture from the air. Since the plant has few roots, this layer is essential, so don’t brush it off!

Originally from the tropical regions of Africa, the Platycerium alcicorne is an epiphyte. This means that it grows on other plants in nature, without drawing nutrients from the soil. In the home, it is best to hang it or place it in a tall pot to show off its impressive leaves.

In terms of care, the “Staghorn Fern” is fairly simple. Place it in a bright spot, but avoid direct sunlight, as this can damage its leaves. It likes a little extra humidity, so occasional watering is welcome. Water it regularly, but allow the soil to dry thoroughly between waterings – wet feet are a no-go! With proper care, this beautiful fern will reward you with its majestic leaves and a tropical feel in your home.
